We have reached 658,521 punches as of October of 2018, and look forward to adding to our count on Saturday!

1,000,000 Punches from the Heart - pc: Tony Amat

How Does 1,000,000 Punches from the Heart Work?
Throughout the Fall, ABC Youth Foundation will bring heavy bags and boxing gloves to organization offices, school campuses and civic groups. The employees, community members or students each hit the heavy bag for sixty seconds and make a visual statement to support "punching out racism, violence and distrust of the police." Participants can dedicate their punching session and all punches are recorded to reach the Campaign Goal of 1,000,000 Punches.

Message to the Community from President, Billy Moore:

The ABC Youth Foundation has thrived and endured for over 50 years in the Central San Diego community providing alternatives to racism, gang violence and engendering support for our community and those who protect it. ABC participants and graduates become involved in and supportive of the community. That's the miracle that happens at ABC Youth every day. We want you to be part of that miracle and help make a difference. I urge and challenge the entire San Diego Community to come together this Fall and help punch out racism, gang violence and mistrust of the Police in our community. Help us show that Any Body can make a difference!

It's a wrap! Thank you to all the families who participated, and a special thank you to everybody who contributed to our program. We couldn't have done it without our ABC family and our partners!

Here's a quick glimpse at some of what we did these last few weeks:

20150716 103030
Our youth visited the ABLE Base where they had the opportunity to see the SDPD's helicopters.

20150720 120049
Billy made sure to do the ABC Concept with the youth at the beginning of the day.

20150724 121008
We visited the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center while the Circus Exhibit was there. Some of our youth were courageous enough to walk the tight rope!

20150728 100624
Our friends from Outdoor Outreach took us surfing and kayaking and we all had an amazing time.

20150723 1532351
We painted several times with Ms. Davina, pictured above is one of the many pieces we did with her. We also did a woodshop class and built birdhouses (not pictured) with Mr. Tony from Jr. Builder's Academy.

We did tons of other activities and we had a great time! We enjoyed those 5 weeks with our youth and we're looking forward to having more successful programs in the future.

(Monday 6/29/2015 - Friday 7/31/2015)

Registration is now open!

This program is open to youth between the ages of 10 and 17 years old and space will be limited.

Among MANY activities, we will be participating in community service, art classes (painting and wood shop), sports (swimming, surfing and kayaking), and field trips (Superior Court, Balboa Park and Old Town).
